Aliko Dangote describes how his brother, Sani, died: “He died in front of me and our mother.”

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has spoken about how difficult it was for him to watch his brother die while on a life support machine.

Aliko Dangote describes how his brother, Sani, died: "He died in front of me and our mother."

Sani Dangote, the Deputy Chairman of the African Gum Arabic Producers Association and a two-time President of the Lagos Polo Club, passed away on November 14 at a US hospital where he was receiving cancer treatment.

Dangote made his submission when APC leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid him a condolence visit following the death of his late brother, Sani Dangote.

“It’s been a really difficult moment for us; it’s been very challenging, especially for myself,” Dangote remarked.

“Having a brother like him is extremely painful once you lose him.” In front of me, our mother, and all of his children, he died.

“The worst part is learning that your brother is going to pass away in about an hour.

“And you just stand there and watch as the machine breaks down until it stops working.” It was excruciating,” says the narrator.

“We’ve always known that there’s death when there’s life.” We, as Muslims, have no idea who will be next, and it may be today, tomorrow, or even right now.

“That is why it is beneficial to be excellent, since when you reach there, you will be able to bid on whatever task you were assigned on Earth.”

In his condolence letter, Tinubu stated that money cannot buy life and that there is nothing anyone can do about it.

He asked the family to hold on to hope and continue to pray for Sani’s soul to rest in peace.

“We are here not just to commiserate or console you,” Tinubu said. “We are here together to mourn our dear brother.”

“Sani isn’t solely yours. He was a Lagosian and a terrific Nigerian, as well as a friend and brother to everyone here.

“I’m not a preacher, but I understand what it’s like to lose a close relative, especially a brother, unexpectedly.

“We have come to join in prayers for you and the people of Kano state, for Nigeria, and for the entire family.”

“May God provide you the fortitude to face the loss.” It’s a tragedy for all of us.

“May God grant you a longer life, excellent health, good health for your family, peace of mind, and the ability to accept the decree of God Almighty.”

“He is the giver and the taker, and he has the power to do anything at any time.”

“We believe that with your faith and your strong capacity, you will overcome this and continue to accomplish good in his name, in your name, in the name of your family, and in the name of the entire country,”
