The Academic Staff Union of Universitirs (ASUU) says that it has reached concrete proposal with the Federal Government of Nigeria on the current warning strike it embarked on.

ASUU President Mr. Biodun Ogunyemi said this whole addressing Newsmen in Abuja at the end of the reconciliatory close-dooe meeting.

The meeting began by 3pm on Tuesday and ended at around 11 pm .

The disagreement of ASUU and Federal Government over the revitalization of Universities, earned academic allowance lead to the strike which started on the 9th of March 2020.

Other talks were the visitation panel and most importantly the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) always and other issues to funding to funding of Universities.

Ogunyemi also said that no pronouncement will be made till after the presentation of the new government proposals to the Union’s members.

The issues ranging from funding, revitalization of Public Universities , earned academic allowances , salary shortfalls in Federal University of Akure and the issue of the state Universities have been addressed so far

According to Ogunyemi, ASUU will first of all take the issues back yo its National Executive Council yo ensure they are on the same page before getting back to Government. And the agreed day to get back to the government will be before the week runs out..

NAN (News Agency of Nigeria) reports that those present at the meeting were Minister of State, Labour and Employment Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN) , Executive Secretary of the National University Commission. And also others also present are Minister of Education, Accountant General of the Federation , Permanent Secretaries in the ministries of labour and also Permanent Secretaries in minis tries of Education
