Charlotte Corney’s biography
In Manchester, England, Charlotte was born on June 22, 1976. Judith Corney is her mother, and Jack Corney is her father. Her older sister, Emma, is a well-known celebrity.
Charlotte was raised in a zoo by her zoo-owning parents. In the late 1970s, her father quit his job as an engineer to buy a dilapidated zoo. He turned the situation around, allowing his family to witness his compassion for animals.
Charlotte grew up around wild animals and had aspirations of going to college to study animal psychology. She did, however, forego her college education in order to help out at the zoo, specifically with the care of a tiger.
Career
After her father passed away in 2003, Corney took over the management of the zoo she grew up in. As its director since then, she has overseen daily operations, rescued animals, cared for the animals, and worked to publicize the zoo. That being said, Charlotte stepped down as CEO in 2018.
Corney’s Tiger Island series, which aired on the National Geographic channel, served as one of his notable promotional efforts for the zoo. The zoo was passed down to her by her mother, who retired as the owner in 2013.
Since its inception, the Isle of Wight Zoo has evolved into The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary. This was done by Charlotte to demonstrate its current stance as a sanctuary that prioritizes the rescue of animals in need of rehoming or who have been subjected to unsavory circumstances such as captivity.
Charlotte adores animals, and she devotes her professional career to ensuring that they have the best possible living conditions. She is a conservationist and animal rights advocate. When it comes to animal-related issues, she collaborates with numerous groups.
The Wildheart Trust was established by Corney in 2017 with the goal of improving animal welfare and making a difference in the wildlife conservation community. It currently contributes to conservation efforts in India, Madagascar, and the United Kingdom. Chris Packham, Charlotte’s boyfriend, is also a Trustee.
As Chris Packham’s partner
It was at the Isle of Wight Zoo that Corney and Packham first met. Even on the first day they met, Chris sensed something was special about Charlotte, as he later told her. At the time, she was involved with her ex-partner and had no idea.
Chris made an effort to spend time with Corney, but due to his Asperger’s syndrome, he was unable to show her the typical signs of his affection. On the other hand, when they were supposed to go out to dinner together in 2007, they ended up talking the entire time. They had an instant connection and began dating right away.
Because he was blunt and lacking in empathy, Chris Packham’s girlfriend would notice. He confirmed her suspicions about Asperger’s when she did some research and thought he might be affected. Chris kept his illness a secret from her for five years because he believed he was good at hiding it.
Is Chris Packham married?
Charlotte Corney and Chris Packham haven’t gotten married yet. Despite the fact that they’ve been dating since 2007, they’re unable to be together because of their work schedules.
In contrast to Chris, Charlotte lives on the Isle of Wight. However, Chris Packham’s wife (possibly future wife) claims that the couple is working toward sharing a residence. Abella and Otto, Corney’s pet rabbits, are temporarily living with her in her apartment.
When Chris and Jo McCubbin were together, they had children. He’s Jo’s stepfather, and his daughter Megan McCubbin, who’s followed in his professional footsteps and has even appeared on Autumnwatch with him, is named after him professionally. According to McCubbin’s Instagram, Megan and Charlotte have a friendly relationship.
A successful zookeeper, Charlotte Corney is also an animal welfare activist. She is a philanthropist. She adores animals and is passionate about protecting and defending the rights of wild animals.
