Born Cynthia Silva on the 29th October 1956, in California USA of Portuguese ancestry, Cindy hasn’t talked about her childhood and parents. After high school, she enrolled at California State University at Fullerton (CSUF), and it was there that her life changed forever.

She met her future husband, Kevin Costner, who was on the university campus studying marketing and finance. She launched her career as an actress even before graduation, appearing on stage mostly, though in 1998 she made her on-screen debut, appearing in the film “LiteWeight”.

Cindy and Kevin married, celebrating their wedding on the 11th February 1978 three years after they met, and remaining married until December 1994. The couple welcomed three children while married, with their first child Annie Costner, born in 1984, their second daughter, Lily was born in 1986, while in 1988 Kevin and Cindy welcomed their only son Joe.

Following their divorce, Cindy received a payment of $50 million, and used the money to start her own business. Twin Palms restaurant was opened in 1995 located in Newport Beach, and it is still operating. She hasn’t remarried, and apparently lives a peaceful life away from the media.

Kevin’s acting career started in the early ‘80s, with the role of John Logan in the film “Malibu Hot Summer” (1981). Throughout the ‘80s he was making a name for himself in films such as “Chasing Dreams”, “Stacy’s Knights” (1983), and as Garnder Barnes in the film “Fandango” in 1985.

However, it was the same year that he had his breakout role as Jake in the film “Silverado”. He received praise for his work, and before the ‘80s ended became a Hollywood star. He finished the decade with the lead role in the multiple Academy-Award- nominated fantasy-drama film “Field of Dreams”.

1990 was his most successful year to date – he decided to direct the film “Dances with Wolves”, based on the novel by Michael Blake. The film became a complete success, earning a total of $420 million at the box office, and winning seven Academy Awards, Kevin won Best Director and Best Picture. He received a number of other awards for the particular film, becoming one of the most popular actors of the year. He enjoyed success throughout the ‘90s, starring in films “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” the next year, then as Frank Farmer in the film “The Bodyguard” (1992), and as the Postman in the film of the same name in 1997.

He was one of the thieves in the action film “3000 Miles to Graceland” in 2001, and after this starred in a number of popular films, but none with any great success. Nevertheless, in 2013 he returned with a role in the sci-fi adventure film “Man of Steel”, with Henry Cavill as Superman, and in 2014 starred in the award-winning film “Black or White”. He was Al Harrison in the multiple Academy Award-nominated film “Hidden Figures” in 2016, and in 2017 starred in the crime-drama film, yhe biopic about Molly Bloom, entitled “Molly’s Game”. Since 2018, he has been portraying John Dutton in the TV series “Yellowstone” (2018-2020).

Kevin and Cindy first met in the early 1970s while they were both pursuing Bachelor’s degrees at the same university in southern California. Just like Kevin, Cindy was drawn to acting. She even played a princess at Disneyland during the summer breaks.

They started dating in March 1975 and on 11th February 1978, Kevin Costner married Cindy when she was just 21 years old.

Cindy Costner’s Ex-Husband, Kevin Costner

Kevin Michael Costner was born on the 18th January 1955, in Lynwood, California USA, the youngest of three children born to Sharon Rae and William Costner – the middle child in the family died at birth.

Of German, English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh ancestry, he was raised as a Baptist, and having attended piano lessons, wrote poetry, and also was part of the First Baptist Choir, among other differing activities. His family moved a lot in his teenage years, and as a result, he lived in several places in California, attending several schools, which fell hard on him as he had to make new friends everywhere he went.

He eventually matriculated from Villa Park High School, and later attended CSUF, where he became interested in acting and dancing.

A year later when he was returning with Cindy from their honeymoon, they were together with actor Richard Burton in a ‘plane, and in an epiphany moment while talking with Burton, Costner decided to become an actor. He quit his day job and started attending acting lessons, but did some work that enabled him to work more on his acting, but also have enough money, such as giving tours around Hollywood stars homes.

Following his divorce with Cindy, Kevin had a short relationship with actress Bridget Rooney, with whom he welcomed a son, Liam, in 1996. Costner is also the loving father of his youngest kids, Cayden, Hayes and Grace, whom he had with his second wife, Christine Baumgartner. The couple exchanged vows in 2004.
