A Nigerian businesswoman who is into cloth selling has taken to the photo-sharing app, Instagram, to call out a young lady who tried to scam her.
According to the cloth seller, the young lady identified as Ayomide Ogunduyile tried to scam her with a fake alert.
“Earlier today, I posted that two ladies (friends) tried to scam me of #120,000 and #46,000 respectively.
During this process, madam Ayomide was messaging asking for her order that was supposed to be delivered on Saturday,” she wrote. L
However, while she was cross-checking payments, she stated that she realised that Ayomide did not pay.
“I messaged her to ask for her account number and bank and she sent a fake account number and also sent TWO fake debit alerts of #56,000 and #59,500. I checked through my app and she never paid.
That was how she started begging.” While warning other vendors to be careful about the tricks employed by scammers, the cloth seller said that she usually gets multiple fake alerts whenever she is doing sales or during the release of a new collection.
To ensure that other vendors do not fall prey to the same person, she shared photos of Ayomide, their conversations together, her address, and social media handles.
The businesswoman also noted that Ayomide has a business page and warned people against falling for it.
The cloth seller warned other vendors from delivering goods before confirming payments through their emails.
According to her, two of the people who have tried to scam her are friends. She stated that they go around sending fake alerts to vendors in exchange for goods.
