House of Rep members reject move to evacuate Nigerians from China

Members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday voted against evacuating stranded Nigerians from China, despite the recent coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu had moved a motion entitled: “Urgent need to evacuate stranded Nigerians from China,” however, the House turned rowdy.

The Speaker then called for a voice vote for the consideration of the motion and majority of the lawmakers shouted “Ney”.

They said China has better facilities to handle coronavirus outbreak than Nigeria.
