A Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered that a 36-year-old man, be remanded in prison, for raping an eleven-year-old girl, the accused was to remain in prison pending legal advice .
The chief Magistrate, Olufunke Sule-Amzat, who refused to grant to the plea of the defendant,
commanded the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice and adjoined the hearing of the case to Oct. 31.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Benson Emuerhi,earlier on told the court that the defendant, who lives off Highway Patrol Barrack, Ikeja, Lagos, committed the offense on Jan. 15.
Emuerhi alleged that the case was announced by the girl’s mother at the Gender Section, Ikeja Police Command.
According to the law enforcement agent, the offence, contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
