Certified Lover Boy loses #1 spot
Over the past week, US rap artists Drake and NBA YoungBoy have each fought for their album’s spot at the top of the charts as fans eagerly awaited the outcome.
It has since been announced that NBA YoungBoy’s Sincerely, Kentrell has managed to surpass Certified Lover Boy, knocking Drizzy down from Number One.
Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, known professionally as YoungBoy Never Broke Again as well as NBA YoungBoy or simply YoungBoy, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter.
Born on 20 October 1999, YoungBoy is now aged 21 years old and has already earned his fourth Number One album.
After the artist faced criminal charges and currently resides in jail, he has now reportedly become the third rapper in hip-hop history to top the charts while being incarcerated.
NBA Youngboy makes history by becoming the 3rd rapper to have his album go number 1 while being incarcerated. Lil Wayne & Tupac were the only other artists to accomplish this feat.

The race between the two albums remained a tight finish as, according to Hits Daily Double, YoungBoy only outperformed Drake by less than 3,000 album-equivalent units.
With Sincerely, Kentrell moving 137,775, Certified Lover Boy reached just under this figure in its fourth week of release with 134,949.
As the American rapper’s third studio album, Sincerely, Kentrell was released on September 24 2021 while CLB was released earlier last month, on 3 September 2021 and managed to uphold its prime position in the charts.
Within its first week of release, Drake’s CLB album reached Number One on Billboard’s chart with the equivalent of 613,000 sales in the United States, according to MRC Data reported by The New York Times.
Although he did not top Drake in this instance, YoungBoy did reach his biggest first-week sales in his career, with 10,199 of the 137,775 coming from pure sales, as per hiphopnmore.com.
The Rolling Stone Artists 500 chart ranks the most-streamed artists of the week in the United States, reporting that YoungBoy Never Broke Again raked in a huge 180.3 million streams for the week of September 11th through to the 17th.
Known as Never Broke Again, fans stated that the literal phrase has now quickly transitioned from a movement to a brand.
