There was a mild drama on disdplay as Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike stormed the venue of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike stormed the National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall as the Board of Trustees (BoT) was ongoing and it raised some eyebrows among the participants of the program.
Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s National Publicity Secretary intimated that Wike attended the meeting in his capacity as a statutory member of the BoT from Rivers state.
He said: “He is qualified to attend the meeting. I heard some people saying he is not a BoT member but that is wrong. He is a statutory member of the BoT from Rivers state so his attendance should not raise any eyebrows,”
Meanwhile, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has opined that President Muhammadu Buhari is not willing to render transparent elections to Nigerians in 2023.
According to Wike, the All Progressives Congress, APC, members of the National Assembly’s opposition of electronic transmission of election results amounted to a coup against Nigerians who want free, fair, and legitimate elections.
Wike called for a free and fair election where Buhari would give way for the electronic transmission of election results to help the process.
He said: “Those who voted against e-transmission of results should be ashamed of themselves. They never mean well for this country. If you are a member of the National Assembly and you voted against electronic transmission of results, your children should call you and say daddy, are you well?
“I can’t believe anybody who went to school in this digital period, will vote against electronic transmission of results. What kind of country is this? What kind of National Assembly members do we have?”
