Like in many other universities, in the University of Lagos, the admission is held for a few weeks. There are two phases of entry. The first one is the pre-screening exercise immediately after announcement, where you will have to bring your JAMB scores and the results of SSCE.

The next phase takes place after the release of student admission lists to study the course of their choice. Those who have successfully passed the admission are invited to the university for another screening. You should bring the following documents with you:

  • Letter of good conduct from your village head or any responsible member of your community.
  • Original copies of the educational qualifications. Awaiting results are not accepted.
  • Original copy of a birth certificate.
  • Certificate of Local Government of Origin.
  • JAMB result slip.
  • Secondary school testimonial.
  • Approximately, eight photographs from a passport.

Only after passing both screening exercises successfully and providing all the required documentation will you be allowed to study at the University of Lagos.

So, to increase your chances of becoming a student of the University of Lagos, we will show you how to calculate UNILAG departmental cut off mark.

Before applying for UNILAG’s admission, you must know how to calculate the aggregation score. To calculate your overall score, you will need to use the following:

  • O – Level: 20%
  • UTME: 50%
  • Post UTME: 30%

For UTME (JAMB) score, you should divide the UTME (JAMB) result by eight and then divide the post-UTME (JAMB) score by two and afterward sum up the two figures you get. Note that the UNILAG entrance candidate, those who scores below 40% in post-UTME (JAMB) tests, will lose a chance to be admitted into the University of Lagos.

How to calculate your O- level points.

  • A1 – 4 points
  • B2 – 3.6 points
  • B3 – 3.2 points
  • C4 – 2.8 points
  • C5 – 2.5 points
  • C6 – 2.0 points

Use the grade point for calculating your five core subjects. However, subjects with D7, E8, or F9 are not considered in calculating O- Level points.
