It sometimes seems like social media has created a whole new dictionary of terms – but what does KAM mean on TikTok?
The abbreviation hashtag has been going viral this week and also appearing on other sites such as Twitter.
And it only became more prevalent after people started repeating claims about an 11-year-old boy being spammed on the video app.

There is also a similar hashtag of KAM2020 which is popular at the moment on social media.
This is referring to a joke on TikTok which is led by a TikTok sound (kill all men), reports Urban Dictionary.
Where did the term come from?
It is thought that KAM comes from a YouTube video made by Jenny McDermott which went viral,
The publication claims that she called for all male babies to be killed in her clip which was on her now deactivated YouTube account.
Why is KAM trending now?
The hashtag has been back in the spotlight recently after rumours started circulating on Twitter that an 11-year-old boy had attempted suicide.
Tweets claimed that the young boy was spammed with KAM messages on his TikTok videos and took them seriously.
However the story has not been verified and many people have questioned whether it is true.
