Nigerians are seething with anger whilst others have accepted the fact that the country is in shambles after it was snubbed for Ghana by Twitter to establish its headquarters in Africa.
Recall that Twitter has officially announced that Ghana is going to be its headquarters in the whole of Africa. Twitter announced on Monday that the company is now in Africa, with its headquarters in Ghana.
“Twitter is now present on the continent. Thank you Ghana and @NakufoAddo,” Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey tweeted today, April 12. Nigerians reacted to the fact that Ghana, and not Nigeria, was chosen to be the headquarters.
Weighing into the interesting debate that has been intense on social media, Abubakar Suleiman, the CEO of Sterling Bank said: “First you tell the world Nigeria is a zoo.. Then you hear @TwitterSF has chosen @GhanaPresidency as their WA headquarters & you are wondering why.
“If you can’t sell yourself, nobody will buy you. Nigeria remains the heartbeat of Africa, our current struggles notwithstanding.”
His post generated another bout of argument. Here’s a few sample;
