The man who was identified as Steven Weber, drowned in the water on Friday after he had gone deeper under the water to ask his girlfriend, Kenesha Antoine, to marry him.
Kenesha Antoine posted a video of the late man popping the question on a Facebook post before he died on Friday. .
The video footage shows the heart melting moment Mr Weber, who came from Baton Rouge in Louisiana, swam down to an underwater window before he brought up an A4 sheet of paper asking the lady to marry him and she was seen laughing with joy, along with the comment: “Yes! Yes! Yes!”.
Both of them were staying in a wooden cabin that obviously had a partially submerged structure which allowed them to look out under the ocean.
He later on pulled out an engagement ring from his pocket before he swam out of view.
She later on posted an update announcing that he had died and he “never emerged from those depths”.
Ms Antoine wrote: “There are no words adequate enough to honour the beautiful soul that is Steven Weber Jr.
“You never emerged from those depths so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!
“We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruellest twist of fate imaginable.
“I will try to take solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together.”
