Dr Precious Lunga (46) is married to Jon Snow (73) of Channel 4 news, due to his stature in media across the world, fans are wondering about her. Lunga has made a name for herself as an Epidemiologist, Business Executive and Entrepreneur.
You may have seen her appear at events such as the Financial Times Africa Summit, Tedx Talk, Great Lives BBC Radio 4 or even at University lectures. The woman is highly educated and married to a famous Brit, yet remains an enigma.

Much like her husband, Dr Precious Lunga is merited in her own right as well educated Epidemiologist. Lunga was born on 4th October 1974 in Bulawayo, Rhodesia.
She moved to England when she was 17 years old. She states in an interview with The NS, that it wasn’t usual for women to study science when she was younger, the nuns at the convent school she attended would say to her “You’re good at science, so you must do science.” And my parents always encouraged me”. She heeded their advice and went on to gain a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh in 1998.
Five years later, she received her PhD in the same field of Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge in 2003. Following her education, Lunga accrued a series of accolades for her work such as the Afya Pap award and the AppsAfrica award. She has worked at her alma mater, the University of Cambridge at their Brain Repair Center and currently has a seat on the board of the Medical Research Council (UK), as a result of her work on their trials for an anti-HIV Microbicide for UNAIDS. She has also done a TEDx Talk on mobile technology.
In 2010, she married Channel 4 presenter and Journalist Jon Snow.
Lunga and Snow’s relationship
John Snow and Precious Lunga married on March 26th 2010 on the Caribbean island of Mustique, which is where they first met in 2001. The two are in the spotlight as of late due to having welcomed their new-born son on 2nd March 2021. Snow has 2 children from his previous marriages but this is the couples first child, together.
The couple were said to have had “numerous medical setbacks and miscarriages”. So, after 11 years of marriage, they welcomed their first child through surrogacy. Snow says “Consequently, we will always be deeply grateful to our surrogate, who carried our embryo to term.”. The name of their son has not yet been released to the public, much like their personal lives with one another, this information has been kept private from the public eye.
