It appears these are trying times for Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known by his stage name, Iyanya, after the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Ikoyi, charged him with car theft.

Reports reveal the one-count charge marked LD/9024c/201 was filed on March 15, 2019. Iyanya however failed to show up before the court.
The court was adjourned 6 times due to his failure to appear despite the singer being served with the charge.
He eventually appeared before Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu-Ighile of an Igbosere High Court, Lagos, on February 4.
Prosecution counsel, Chukwu Agwu who is a Superintendent of Police, alleged that Iyanya committed the offence in September 2018.

Agwu told the court that said vehicle belongs to ‘The Temple Management Company Ltd, represented by a lawyer, Ayodeji Olomojobi.
Although Agwu prayed the court to remand the singer in Nigerian Correctional Services, pending the hearing and determination of his bail application, Iyanya’s counsel opposed it, He prayed the court to release the musician to him and undertook to produce him in court on the next adjournment. His prayer was granted.
