Nigerians on street drag SFG Boss Mustapha mercilessly for saying he never knew healthcare infrastructure was bad

Over the years, many Nigerians have been clamouring for the government to take steps at reforming the health sector which is lacking in so many ways. All pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic showed up and it is crippling the health sector across the world.

While the majority of Nigerians are aware of the issues facing the health sector in the country, it appears the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha had no idea what was going on. He may have only gotten to know about how bad things are because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mustapha recently expressed shock at the deplorable state of Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure, saying he never knew the country’s healthcare system was in a very bad state until the pandemic.

According to Mustapha, his role as the chairman of the presidential task force on COVID-19 opened his eye to the current state of Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure.

Nigerians are not taking it lightly with the SGF as they have taken to social media to criticise him. Many are wondering how such a high-ranking official is not aware of the reality the people have been facing.

“Fellow Nigerians, don’t be surprised that Boss Mustapha said he was not aware our hospitals are in a terrible state.

They’re never aware of anything asides treating us like sh*t. They are stupid humans in the name of leaders,” Olumide Adujelewu’s comment on Twitter read.

Jemine wrote: “Scam government!! A country where SGF Boss Mustapha never knew the health facilities in the country is that bad and Health Minister Dr Osagie Ehanire is not aware if health workers are being paid hazard allowance.”

Reacting to Mustapha’s statement, Olushola Olufolabi described the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government as the most irresponsible in Nigeria’s history.
