The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of confidence on Adam’s Oshiomhole to continue to lead the party.
The confidence vote came at a time some senior members of the party called for Oshiomhole’s resignation for the alleged failures of the party in the 2019 general elections, especially in Zamfara and Rivers.
According to Daily Trust reports the development was confirmed by the chairman of the APC in Enugu state and secretary of the forum of APC state chairmen, Ben Nwoye.
Nwoye, who spoke with journalists after a meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Comrade Oshiomhole, asked that all the allegations against the national chairman of the party should be disregarded.
Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Nwoye said: “In attendance were 21 States and seven sent excuses and apologies. We met with national chairman of our great party in company of members of NWC.
“We talked on relevant issues to the party. We discussed in details on party unity. At the end of the meeting, we were informed fully on party issues and unity of the party.
“He has all it takes to lead this party to the Next Level’,” he said.
Nwoye noted that Oshiomhole remains the chairman of the APC and described him as a strong leader.
