The opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have ordered President Mohammadu Buhari, to vacate office and resign since the minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, has revealed that the president does not have the required certificate to be the president of the country.

They revealed that the minister, begged Nigerians to pardon him. The order was given by the PDP ahead of the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, following it’s case against the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the 2019 presidential election.

However, it was later discovered that the Ministry of Information, had stated that the video making rounds, was that of the interview granted by the minister as in 2015.

“While it is true that Lai Mohammed made the comment when he appeared on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, the impression being given that it is recent is misleading. The minister made the comment as far back as 2015,”
a source in the ministry said.

The PDP however claimed that the pushing out of the video was “the deliberate ploy of Alhaji Lai Mohammed to appeal to sentiments, seeing that Mr. President had failed to defend himself before the Presidential petition tribunal.”
