Report: West Ham reignite interest in 2020 target as Moyes seeks Zouma and Ogbonna cover

West Ham manager David Moyes is looking for a replacement for Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna, and Calciomercato reports that Daniele Rugani is on his radar.

Where am I supposed to go from here?

After all, according to Calciomercato, Zouma’s hamstring injury against Chelsea will keep him out for months.

As for Ogbonna, he was sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining a catastrophic knee injury in the 3-2 triumph over Liverpool.

After that, just Craig Dawson and Issa Diop remain for Moyes to choose from, with Declan Rice able to fill in as a last resort.

A loan deal involving Rugani, 27, is possible, according to Calciomercato, but Juventus will not trade him.

Seven-cap Italy international Gianluigi Buffon has appeared just three times this season for Turin.

West Ham have wanted Daniele Rugani before

This rumour could have legs, as West Ham have actually expressed an interest in the Lucca-born defender before.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Irons are interested in signing Rugani in 2020, while the east Londoners and Newcastle United are also reportedly interested.

If it was good enough for West Ham to maintain tabs on the Juventus No. 24, then it must have been quite good.

Rugani, in our opinion, would be a good cover for a short-term loan move until the end of the season.

He is a five-time Serie A champion and has Champions League experience, so he should have a winning attitude.

Surely the Hammers will finally get Rugani. We’ll have to wait and see.
