Welcome to another article of mine. Here I shall be writing about the view of Rev Uma Ukpai concerning the issue of Biafra in Nigeria. It might no longer news that the Ighbos have been clamoring for Independence.
Rev Uma Ukpai Ukpai, the founder and president of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a nondenominational gospel ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, south-south Nigeria, has kicked against Biafra agitation.
Do you know that that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who is also the Director of Radio Biafra, is agitating for the Republic of Biafra. His group, the IPOB which is also seeking to break away from Nigeria had since been proscribed by the Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Nnamdi has been working tirelessly day and night to see that the Independence of the igbos in Nigeria is actualized. The leader of the IPOB is very optimistic about the freedom of the igbos.
Like Kanu, the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) is also fighting the same course along with other pro-Biafra groups in Nigeria.
NB: addressing reporters in Uyo, headquarters of his ministry, the Abia-born cleric condemned agitations for Biafra, saying that those agitating for the actualisation of Biafra Republic are “mad people.
Well, I think the cleric must have his reasons for making such comment at the first place. In life, every one has his or her own view to express.
