Award winning table tennis champion, has been shown the exit door out of the tournament by a 19 year old opponent.

According to The Women’s Tennis Association, Serena, 37, had to leave the Rogers Cup final in Toronto early Sunday, due to incessant back spasms.

The 23-time Grand Slam hero, made it through only four games of the opening set but had to retire from the match when the pain became unbearable.

She therefore lost the tittle to a 19-year-old, Canadian, Bianca Andreescu who was her opponent.
Although victorious, Andreescu was spotted comforting her opponent who was visibly sad on the sideline.

This attitude of sportsmanship from Andreescu, attracted so much applauds from sport lovers around the world.

According a report from BBC sports, Williams’ only previous retirement in a singles final came at the Rogers Cup in 2000 – the year Andreescu was born.
