For those wondering if there will be a second season of Sweet Magnolias, the streaming service announced that the show’s renewal back in July 2020.

In October 2020, tweet, author Sherryl Woods revealed that filming for the second season will begin in early 2021 in Georgia.
On March 21, the show’s lead JoAnna Garcia who plays Maddie Townsend took to Instagram to reveal that she was flying to Atlanta. She also revealed that filming for the Sweet Magnolias season 2 is set to begin.
Moreover, on May 4, cast member Heather Headley posted a picture from the sets of the second season.
Given that production has already begun fans can expect Sweet Magnolias season 2 to release in early or mid-2022.

In an interview with Parade, show writer Sheryl Anderson teased some new arrivals in Sweet Magnolias season 2.
She said in the interview, “We certainly have some great thoughts about new citizens of Serenity. There will be new alliances between existing citizens of Serenity.”
