The Ibos want Biafra, The North wants Ibo's exit, The Yorubas want Ibo's exit By Wole Soyinka

By WOLE SOYINKA……

The Ibos want Biafra

The North wants Ibo’s exit

The Yorubas want Ibo’s exit

The Ibos are saying “we have investments in your areas and cannot leave them”

And the fight is being cooked.

Governors are sharing bailout funds

Workers salaries are not paid

Government officials have their children schooling abroad

Ministers and senators are looting

The poor Hausa man is riding Okada

The poor Ibo man is riding Okada

The poor Yoruba man is riding Okada

The poor Hausa man sleeps under the bridge as Alamajiri

The poor Yoruba man sleeps under the bridge as Alaye

The poor Ibo man sleeps under the bridge as agbero

It is pertinent to note that the poor from all ethnic groups in Nigeria have everything in common and so is the rich.

Do not allow the agitation of an Ibo man who lives in UK or USA for Biafra cause the killing of the Ibo man in Adamawa.

The problem in the country is not the agitation of any ethnic group but the unity of the elite and the disunity of the masses.

How many times have you taken your agitation to question your local government Chairmen?

Why have you not asked your Governors through agitation how they spent bailout fund?

Why have you not agitated against that government official whose mansions you go to beg for help?

Sad to note;

All the Governors love themselves

All the past Presidents love themselves

All the senators love themselves

All the top government officials love themselves

All the looters love themselves

Why can’t you and I love ourselves?

Why cant we combine efforts and fight them?

Why do we fight ourselves?

Why do we allow them the freedom we don’t have?

Remember; a good Nigeria is better than a good Arewa, Oduduwa or Biafra.

    1. Until you give me reason of federal government not including the South East in loan they will be part of the paying back,$22.7b and you what did you say about it,then I will know that the unity of this nation is possible. It is impossible to achieve unity with out equity and justice, impartiality and fairness

    2. One day we’ll all come to our senses and fight our common enemy which is the so called leaders at all levels who are inflicting us with killer virus called POORVERTY….!

  1. Your write up is quite rejuvenating but one thing is certain in this country of ours -the more we look, the less we see. Nigeria has not gotten to the stage of life that can be called developed, so youth mobilization in fighting the leaders or our various leaders within our own immediate location proves difficult as some of the youths who are hungry can actually be bought over to dance to their tunes.
Breaking up the country into three would be a very nice idea since there’s nothing known as unity in this country.

    1. There can never be one Nigeria when there is no unity, when the common need of masses cannot be met. there is no light, there is no security, poor health centre an education, senators, ministers, governors, house of rep fly their children outside country for studies.

  2. Dear Soyinka, the of problems of Nigeria beyond your imagination. The slogan, one Nigeria, considered wisdom yesterdays is now foolishness and regrettable because of insecurity. There are people responsible for terrorists in the country. Where is unity?

  3. well said. one of the striking issues raised is the unity of the elites and the disunity of the masses. My literary Don should also know, that the unity of the elites and the disunity of the masses is pure triumphed ideology coined by the elites to help them have a perpetual control of the masses. And worst still, the ideology is sustained with divide and rule, that is why when one voice rises to mobilise the masses for that unified agitation against any leader either at the local government level or state, a signal is made at the federal for a mobilisation of troops to either loch him up, get him killed or integrate him as part of the elites class, and end the raisin. They did it to Ken Sarowiwa , killed. To Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and Asare Dokubo, they integrate them into the upper class. It is not that the ram foolishly followed as he is being dragged to slaughter, but the hairs which covered his body also hid the sweat of his stress. Chinuachebe outlined some of the major problems with Nigeria. Which amongst them is leadership. I expect the likes of my literary erudite to commit his literary strength for enactment of law which will help control the excesses of the elites, which will also serve as a springing board for the masses to agitate against the elites. With the present system of things, the masses cannot rise to agitate, else, they will be proscribed raisin in the sun, and all sun raisers, are always thrown to the dungeon, gallo or killed. So, the masses are will to but are in search of where to start and one to lead.

  4. Dear Soyinka, you are part of our problem. What ever the general masses are passing through today, you are part of the chief architect of it. You condemned GEJ and brought this govt. If you as a prof can do this, what do you respect from other Nigerians that are more of illiterate. I predate with do respect to go and hide yourself inside the room. Your own children should come down here in Nigeria and lead the confrontation against the politicians

  5. Soyinka did not mention fulanis in his fairytale as a playwriter. Did not mention establishment of fulani caliphate with its emirates in 1804. Fulani caliphate with its emirates which is the fundamental problem. Fulani caliphate with its emirates behind Almajiri practice, underage marriage practice, this territory natives ruined existence, poverty, unemployment, economy, education, business, public infrastructures, amenities etc. to subdue this territory natives under fulani rulership. Fulani caliphate with its emirates which are using the so-called military and police to kill this territory natives to subdue this territory natives under fulani rulership. Fulani caliphate with its emirates which control the 19 states of the north and Abuja, by so doing, northern natives and southern natives has no say democratically. Northern natives and southern natives which owns the land and are more than 99% population of this natives territory. The only answer is end of fulani caliphate with its emirates in the ongoing Revolution War against fulani caliphate with its emirates under the natives Disintegrated Republics in which thugs of fulani caliphate with its emirates nickname military and police must be Eliminated on every inch of this natives territory of Disintegrated Republics. Elimination of fulani thugs nickname military and police is end of fulani caliphate with its emirates. We have broken backbones of fulani thugs nickname military and police in the last three and half years of bloody engagement against fulani caliphate with its emirates under the natives Disintegrated Republics. This territory natives has capabilities and capacity to Eliminate the remaining thugs of fulani caliphate with its emirates nickname military and police in less than 24 hours. Every community, town, city must be fully armed now, Kill thugs of fulani caliphate with its emirates nickname military and police on the streets etc. and take their weapons, Kill them in their barracks etc. and take their weapons, Burn Down their barracks etc. and take their weapons for end of fulani caliphate with its emirates. The so-called Nigeria which is fulani caliphate with its emirates, has fallen. It is Yugoslavia of Africa. The six geopolitical zones are Sovereign States- Biafra Republic of south east, Niger Delta Republic of south south, Oduduwa Republic of south west, North East Republic, North West Republic, North Central Republic. Boko Haram is for North East Republic, Amotekun is for Oduduwa Republic of south west, Ogbunigwe is for Biafra Republic of south east. The so-called unity of the elites in Soyinka fairytale, is this territory natives who are slaves of fulani caliphate with its emirates. Slaves of fulani caliphate with its emirates which must go down with fulani caliphate with its emirates. This territory natives which owns the land and are more than 99% population of this natives territory are united under the natives Disintegrated Republics. If an Igbo man in Adamawa do not stand for end of fulani caliphate with its emirates, must die with fulani caliphate with its emirates. Any this territory native who do not stand for end of fulani caliphate with its emirates, die with fulani caliphate with its emirates. Any community, town, city which do not stand for end of fulani caliphate with its emirates, must go down with fulani caliphate with its emirates, any company which do not stand for end of fulani caliphate with its emirates, must go down with fulani caliphate with its emirates. Existence securities and freedom of this territory natives depends on end of fulani caliphate with its emirates. End of fulani caliphate with its emirates is only with the Sword in the ongoing Revolution War against fulani caliphate with its emirates under the natives Disintegrated Republics in which thugs of fulani caliphate with its emirates nickname military and police must be Eliminated on every inch of this natives territory of Disintegrated Republics. Elimination of fulani thugs nickname military and police is end of fulani caliphate with its emirates. Elimination of fulani thugs nickname military and police is Non-Negotiable.

  6. Everything is not poetry Mr Prof.
If I’m not mistaking, you have either been fed with errors or not having any element of sincerity in you, Nigeria’s problem is beyond your scope.
Nigeria has no hope and because the elites are virtually in good terms does not mean that the blood of the poor masses should continue strengthen their unity, the masses have no peace.

  7. You’re right prof but the mindset of Nigerians now is not what you think and at the same time I wish what you think could happen. The last I witnessed a unity and fighting together was back in June 12 1993 when the masses rose up to fight the military government of that time.

  8. Mr sole Soyinka you’re a cheat! l used to take you as my role model, but ever since l discovered the kind of Person you’re, l distance myself from anything you say or do! You’re talking of Biafra! Are you a Biafran? what’s your business with what Biafrans are doing to liberate their People? When Biafra People are being marginalised where are you? or you claimed not to know that Biafra is marginalised! All of you we know your Antics, it’s not going to work this time. You did the same thing during Jonathan’s government, when you set up occupy Nigeria group in the street of Lagos,we knew the part you played,See the government of today. You’re not talking anymore you have suddenly turned deaf ear. You’re all hypocrites. Nature, karma and Posterity will Judge all of you. There is nothing you tell people that will be meaningful to them again, Here you’re talking about Biafra. Are you a Biafran?

  9. Mr soyinka sir this country has not offered anyone happiness since my birth,if this country is a good country we will not have much beggers, agberoos, and insecurity in the country,Nigeria is nothing all to write about,
See for example now the coronavirus pandemic disease outbreak, government as its citizens to stay at home for 14 days no market no work and government do not even show concern if they have anything to feed on no money no food and there is government in this country so what do you want us to do only Biafra can solve dis issue because Nigeria is a failed country .

    1. One day we’ll all come to our senses and fight our common enemy which is the so called leaders at all levels who are inflicting us with killer virus called POORVERTY….!

  10. Mr Prof i thought you once said you didn’t believe God existence why this love related message from you, don’t you know that God is love 1john: 4v8 if you must know mr Prof this kountry was never divine before it was the error of mæn made invention of 1914 with any Igbo representative in Niger state 28 British, 2 Yoruba a king and a lawyer from Lagos 3 hausa one sultan of sokoto and two other people and finally obong from Calabar, so therefore Mr Prof don’t pretend to be a good Nigeria we were never one before don’t your cousin brother fela kuti sang it during his era that is why chinualumuogu your associates Prof is been Revere than you world wide. Why wouldn’t you support the unity of Nigeria they gave you scholarship back then. in Unity we had fellen but in Division we shall outstænd our defeat. Mr prof you ever believe this country unity, don’t you know what your cousin brother fela kuti said in confusion break bone. ‘ my people think say Nigeria don dey but as i see am Nigeria go go down’ if the right things are not done yet on time the restructuring ojukwu bargain for years back is still what the illiterate northerners, gowon and obasanjo are glamouring for now the only way the self acclaimed giant of Africa could be united and solidified was truncated and paralyzed through backup war by the British government against Biafra kountry 1967-1970 the illiterate claim to be given very few days to bring to order the most intelligent persons among the world race who were resilient to the British genius for thirty four to five years before they were partially suppressed

  11. White man created Nigeria for their economical interest our language ,religion and traditions are not the same then where is the bases of one Nigeria

  13. The whole thing is a twist. Does Ariwa and youruba really want Biafra exit? Why did they fight to keep them, why did they brand their agitation a terrorist action rather than give express approval to the exit request. Do the today Biafra really want to exit why do they invest heavily in the lands of people they don’t want to be part of.
I think some group of minorities are playing ball with the majority and winning big time.

  14. The government of Nigeria is a place where by you look unto yourself alone forgetting that you there to serve a nation. Is difficult to govern now because the hardship has escalated, those that are ruling us are not showing good example, no security, practicing nepotism, corruption, tribalism for example go to apapa walt and see what they are doing to igbos there.it is better to divide the country

  15. Very well Said sir but one Nigeria is a washed out sentiment. I am sure that those who fought for it can no longer defend it if they are honest to themselves. There is such a very big gulf created by deep seated hatred and animosity that such raprochment that you preach has become very impossible in Nigeria now and I don’t see it happening in the future. We still have the time to sit down and discuss the terms of separation (yes, separation) so that those who do not believe in this entity called Nigeria can go ahead and determine the course of their future. Doing this peacefully can make us good neighbors tomorrow. Now that we know that the North and West don’t want the Igbo, what are we waiting for. Great time to do the needful.
Anyway what is inevitable is still inevitable.

  16. To me this is just a fairy tell. It makes no sense. I saw a hypothetical write up just to pretend as if he cares for the common man but hiding in disguise to perform a one Nigeria slogan. The problem of Nigeria soyinka is a play maker. Nigeria will develop more if divided than United. Unity can’t work in Nigeria. Simple soyinka what are you afraid of . Is it oil or mere laziness

  17. Out dated professor… Since you became professor you have been traveling all over the world and might have even seen how developed they are.. What recommendations have made for the nation to the government to implement for better of Nigeria.. Not but all you are interested in is your own share from the same government when they didn’t give you more you will castigate …in case you don’t know you are even worse than the Nigeria you are talking about

  18. Literary icons are known to be social engineers, they are also known to influence justice system. If Prof Wole wants to influence a change, let him write to UN & other international bodies so they can look into the imbalance in our system. Other this write-up will at best pass as trash.

  19. oga road safety man, oga cultism, oga professor of evil, all the institutions you founded are the key problems we have in this your Nigeria today, if you don’t belong to ogboni fraternity you can not become a governor, you introduced cultism in our universities look at all the governor in the 36 states that make up Nigeria and tell me why they do there meetings at mid nights, they are all your by products, Federal road safety you founded is no longer at the federal roads, hunger has taking them in to the street to intimidate pore drivers and take money from them, which of this problems you created can you solve first before you call on the already frustrated pore Nigerians to come and fight the wicked cult men you groomed since early 70s. i grew up to heard that gray hair is a semble of wisdom, in your own case you have nothing to offer Nigeria again, my pis of advice to you is, live this country to fall into the pit you and your so called leaders dug for it, can’t you read the hand writing on the wall, things fall apart the center can not hold .

  20. Very unreasonable narrative to distract attention from the reality that the country is not working and must be dismantled for peace to reign and for growth to commene. When one part of the country is treated as a conquered entity and it’s people as third class citizens in their own land, yet you’re not sincere enough to proffer solutions instead you’re indirectly accusing the victims of sedition, that makes you evil man Professor Wole Soyinka

  21. If truly it’s the Prof that wrote this, I will say, this is not a write-up of someone who has been in unequiped hospital for a long time.

  22. Prof, lgbos are not pushovers ooo, Long ago,
they single handedly produced Ogbunigwe. Well, Is only that Nigerians actually derive joy in being underdeveloped country and paraded as giant of Africa. Her government prefers to waste resources, accords respect to foreigners, imports every bit of item so as to put up bill as budget for the year, meanwhile they are individually milking the nation. No wahala, we are watching !!!!!!But God dey. Ibo cannot be in Nigeria forefront and NiGA will be crawling as it is. Foresight matters in leadership, and it takes a hard-working instrument to make other instruments work. Position an initiator of a better idealogy, who generates idea and compliments it with hardwork , NiGA will change from underdeveloped to developed. I am not mincing words.
