Tributes are flooding social media for Tawny Kitaen after rumours emerged saying she died last night aged 59.
Who is Tawny Kitaen?
Julie E. Kitaen, better known as ‘Tawny’, is an American actress, comedian and media personality.
The 59-year-old from San Diego, California, is well known for appearing in many music videos for the band Whitesnake in the 1980s and was briefly married to the lead singer David Coverdale.
Some of her other acting roles include Bachelor Party (1984) where she played the bride-to-be of Tom Hanks’ character, Witchboard (1986), White Hot (1989) and Dead Tides (1997).
Rumours are saying Tawny has passed away
Twitter is being flooded with reports today (May 8th) that Tawny Kitaen has died. At the time of writing this, these reports have not been confirmed.
In the early hours of Saturday, a publisher called Latest News South Africa reported that Tawny had passed away, but did not give any further details on her death.
Then, music historian Eddie Trunk tweeted a tribute to Tawny, writing:
“RIP Tawny Kitaen. Sad to learn of the passing of a true 80s icon. From film to @Whitesnake videos to the cover of @theRATTpack albums a true legend. Condolence to family, friends and fans.”
However, Eddie deleted his tweet, which has suggested to fans that the reports are fake.
Then, American model and actress Carrie Stevens appeared to confirm the news on Twitter.
In response to a death announcement made by a Twitter user called @MetalSludge, she wrote: “It’s true. I don’t people for not wanting to believe it…. but it is fact. Let her family give the official statement. They deserve that respect. RIP to a legend.”
Until the reports are officially confirmed by a member of Tawny’s family, we won’t know for sure.
