On Tuesday (April 13th), Dream took to his private Twitter to release a public phone number where fans can contact him.
He tweeted the phone number and wrote “text me” before saying in another tweet:
“I’ll be trying to be interactive and stuff through text as well as keeping you updated on important things, think this is super awesome.”
Fans are reporting that you can only call and text the phone number if you are in the USA, and there have been complaints that it doesn’t work internationally.
What happens when you call or text him?
When you call the number, you receive a pre-recorded voicemail message from Dream that says:
“Hey, this is Dream. Thank you so much for calling my phone. I don’t actually get voicemails, so if you wanna talk to me, make sure to shoot me a text. I try and reply to as many as I can. Umm… I appreciate you guys. I love you. Thank you. Bye.”
If you text the number, you receive an automated message that says:
“Hey! This is Dream ???? well not really, this is an autotext I wrote. but if you click the link it’ll add my contact to your phone, and from then on it’ll actually be me.”
Then, if you click on the link and subscribe to the texts, you get another message that says:
“You’re in my contacts now ???? thank youuu. I also have to say this for legal reasons: Msg frequency will vary. Msg&Data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.”
The texts are provided through a platform called Community that allows people to connect directly to their audience via text.
