The South Korean band has just dropped the music video of their new single, ‘Butter’, amassing millions of views within the matter of hours.

BTS releases new song ‘Butter’
On Friday (May 21st), BTS dropped the three-minute music video to their eagerly-anticipated summer single ‘Butter’.
At the time of writing, the official video premiered only a few hours ago and has already gained over 51 million views.
‘Butter’ is the K-pop band’s second single in English, following the massive success of ‘Dynamite’ which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year.
BTS will perform the new single at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 23rd.

Who is Ron Perry?
Ron Perry is listed as a co-writer and co-producer in the new track.
He is a music executive and chairman of Columbia Records. Those who follow BTS closely, might know that Perry has worked with the K-pop group since 2018.
Perry previously served as president of SONGS Music Publishing where he had signed several A-list artists such as The Weeknd, Diplo, Lorde and others. The company was sold to Kobalt Music Publishing in 2017.
Speaking to Variety, Perry said: “Being in publishing, I was really involved in making records. That hasn’t changed. I hope I have good instincts. Sometimes I don’t. Over time, you work really hard to perfect that as much as you can.”
Who is Alex Bilowitz?
Alex Bilowitz is credited as one of the writers of ‘Butter’.
He helped write ‘Gravity’ for Timeflies, and worked on the production of José James’ ‘Lay You Down’ and Vanessa Hudgens’ single ‘Last Night’, according to a profile on Discogs.
As per the writer’s LinkedIn bio, Bilowitz graduated with a BA degree in Music from Skidmore College. He worked as a producer at EUSONIA Studios between 2007 and 2012.
During his time at EUSONIA, Bilowitz has gone on to produce and write for a number of artists including Kevin Rudolf, Gavin Degraw, Keith Urban, Busta Rhymes and Jamie Lidell, as per official bio.
