Woman arrested for posing as Sanwo-Olu’s aide to secure visas

A woman has been arrested for posing as an official from the Lagos State Governor’s Office at Italian Embassy in a bid to secure visas for some members of the public.

A statement was released by the deputy chief press secretary to Governor Babatunde sanwo-olu, Gboyega Akosile, said the suspect via an email sent to the Embassy of Italy in Lagos, allegedly posed as an official of Lagos State government and sought the countrys visas for some unsuspecting Nigerians.

Akosile said the embassy wrote to the Governors office to authenticate the claims,which were later found to be false. She was arrested and is currently being interrogated.

He stated added that the lady denied the allegations claiming that her Emial has being hacked.

In the meantime the office has warned members of the public not to deal with any who claims to be any government representatives in consular matters like this.
